Less, Not More - the power in letting go

All too often we think about, discuss or simply focus on what we want more of.

Money

Breaks

Possessions

Time

Love

Support

…the list goes on. Yes, it varies from person to person, from life phase to life phase. Nonetheless, the focus tends to be on what we don’t have.

What we wish we had.

What we instinctively feel would make us happier, if only we had it… or more of it.

There is however, a beauty in letting go.

In recognising what you need less of.

In acknowledging what drains you rather than fulfils you…An awareness of what drives more pain than pleasure…What triggers self doubt more than self confidence.

It can feel impossible to let go of

👉 Responsibilities

👉 People

👉 Habits

👉 Limiting beliefs

I’m going to be touching on each of these 4 key areas of our lives, over the next few weeks; sharing thoughts on why we hold on, our fear of letting go, challenging those perceptions of why we feel we can’t. Maybe sharing ideas on how to make a start.

We are crammed full of stories we tell ourselves about why we do the things we do, see the people we see, and repeat certain behaviours. These narratives are born out of life experience, lessons (often during pre-maturity) and primitive fears.

No wonder it feels scary to think about letting go of a responsibility, a person, a habit, a belief…

But it can also be extremely liberating.

It’s the ultimate first step in self care -

to recognise what you need, and what you don’t need.

See you here, next week …
